I am going to have to come up with something else.. its to short.. i am not complaining but i think i may have to re tool..
any ideas? i have the Lesche 42" T Handle one for farm fields but its to big to bring on a lawn..
As soon as I read the title of your topic I said he needs a Raven. I was detecting the other day and hit on a dime. Started digging with my Lesche Knife and did not reach it. I had the Raven in the truck retrieved it and the shape of the blade went down in the hole that I had already dug. Retrieved the dime over 10" down. Like the Raven.
I posted about the same problem. Several hunters said the Predator Raptor model 31 is what I needed. So I bought one and it's what you need. It should be called the excavator! I sharpened it up like a razor. I can plunge it into the ground 3 times and flip a nice plug way quicker then sawing and plunging the knife. Plus once the hole is open I can grab and retrieve a ton of soil quickly. I won't sell my knife but the model Raptor is here to stay. George sold me one without the sheath and dropped his price. I carry my digger in my habd most of the time. But it fits nicely in my pouch too.

I just love my old Army issue e-tool. It's the three way folding shovel with carry case. It's small and inconspicuous while folded up in the case. Unfolds in two seconds. Cuts an awesome plug quickly as deep as you want. Dirt and plug goes right back in the ground like there was never even a hole dug. Back in carry case all folded up, so your not carrying around an intimidating looking shovel type digger.
Just my $.02 To each his own. Happy Hunting!
Wow...that looks to be a nice digger. Wont be needing something like that for several months yet..going to be hitting the beaches mostly for now but in a few months am going to head inland and see if I can find any civil war stuff. Never been anywhere where I could hunt for such....until now. Best of both worlds now. LOTS of beaches and not that far from areas to hunt for civil war relics.
AND all the fishing I can handle. Went fishing the other day, brought home Blue and Spanish Mackeral. Fried em up for supper within 2 hours of catching em. Yummm...tasted great. Aint nothing like fresh fish. Living my dreams. All the detecting spots I could wish for, almost within walking distance, and all the fishing I can wish for.
