Lens test: Vintage 1978 Minolta 75-200mm F4.5 lens.........

I did a test yesterday of the Minolta MD Zoom-Rokkor-X 75-200mm F4.5 lens that has been collecting dust in a closet.. There are several factors that I need to mention. This is a heavy, long lens that you should use mounted on a tripod, not hand held like I did to test this lens. This lens is the old “push/pull” zoom which I do not really like, but I did not experience any lens creep in regards to the zoom. I did use the original lens hood. I experienced some difficulty due to numbness in my finger tips. I put some dry cat food on the patio deck railing to entice the birds to come eat, but only one showed up. Conclusion: The lens is probably better than my pictures demonstrated. I will eventually replace this lens with a lighter, compact lens some time in the future, but it will do for now. Not too shabby for old glass. Nice and sharp with good bokeh.

Some of them are premier lenses and will amaze you at the pictures they will produce. Below is a picture that I took a few days ago at a horse stable in far North San Antonio with an vintage Minolta lens.
