Legal to Med. detect on beach in Cancun?

Reggie

New member
We will be staying in a condo in the builtup section of the peninsula, and I wonder if anyone has firsthand knowledge of whether it is legal to use my MXT on the beach near the motels/condos. I would not be hunting ancient stuff, just coins and jewelry along the beach. I need to be sure before I risk confiscation of my MXT!!! Thanks.

It seem like I read a post a ways back, beach hunting was ok, inland was off limits. i would post on beach forum. good luck

Robocoin is right, the last I knew. I don't think things have changed. All beaches belong to the Government and you can hunt to your hearts desire. Inland is a different story.

Reggie I was there in May of last year I took my detector with me there were no problems. The beaches in Mexico are public beaches and are open. Hope this helps.Good Luck!
