well i received the detector (legacy3300) today haven't had time to use it yet but i will tomorrow. it seems o.k it is missing the locking collar on the shaft i email vcastro at b.h.for a replacement I'll see what happens every time i ask an expert i never get a response i hope they answer this time.its a 2007 model and only G B's in all metal mode. it's not as well built as the ace 250 I'll see how it pinpoints. thanks

Can you send me his email address? My Sharpshooter II came without the locking collar too. My other one has it, but the new one does not. Thanks, Willie

Yes, a small square cut out. Is that what yours has?

10-4 it also shows in the manual that it's there, and how 2 loosen and tighten it. without it the shaft wobbles. if worse comes to worse i know Keith at broken detector will have 1. www.brokendetector.com

I sent the email, wonder how we are going to get these locking collars?

I'll let you know when this white stuff is off the ground. The Tesoro has a smaller coil and should perform well in the trashy areas. The Compadre is only $151.20 on eBay. A lot less to look at, and I'll be digging everything.
