Legacy 3300?

Guys, I have been trying to trade into a discovery 3300 for a while now, and am having no luck. Decided that I'd look for a deal on a new one, and notice that now there is a 'Legacy 3300' on the market. Other than the color, it looks the same as the discovery. Anybody have any info on the Legacy?

I own a Discovery 3300. From what I understand, The Legacy 3300 is the same detector.
If you live is a city large enough to have a few pawn shops, give them a call. I got my Discovery for $95 including tax.
Good luck and good MDing.

If it gets to the point where I would actually spend the money I would lean towards the F4 (unless I can find one of the sub-$100 Discovery 3300s on closeout at Radioshack) because the Legacy at $250 and the 11"DD for $150 adds up to about the same price of the F4 which has a better resale potential and a few extras like the fancy stem. Also there is the rumor that the Fisher has a better recovery time.

I hate to say it but Fisher does have a better recovery time. I have a Fisher F2 and a Ace 250 along with my Bounty Hunters. But the Ace is fast I think, but the F2 is a ton faster at recovery. What's nice about the BH's and the Fisher F2 is that the coils interchange on them both. So I have the best of both worlds.

I just purchased a Legacy 3300. Before I bought it I emailed BH to ask what the differences are. Apparently only the name is changed and they sell the Legacythough a select bunch of dealers. BTW, my 3300 works very well. The adjustable ground balance is why I bought it, rather than a unit with only fixed or automatic GB. This has turned out to be a good decision.

I have an Elite 2200 which I believe in some ways is much like the 3300 machines but without the manual adjustable ground balance and some other features. I then bought a Pioneer 505 which allows for adjusting the ground balance, at least in all metal, no-motion mode.

What is the advantage of having adjustable ground balance on a 3300 machine? My Elite 2200 seems to do Ok without it.

Also, regarding recovery speed, is a fast recovery speed important in case a valuable target is next to an iron nail and iron is being discriminated? With a slow recovery speed, would the iron discrimination mask the treasure but with fast recovery, the treasure still be detected?

Thanks,

Mark
