LED Display and the Hot Sun....

Something strange happened this weekend when I was hunting. For some reason my display nearly dissapeared on me. I changed batteries and it was still very faint. I had the contrast set at 7 so I backed it off to 4 and things were ok. Was the hot sun affecting the display??? Its strange because I've never really needed to mess much with the contrast. Has anyone experienced this??
Take care,
Tim

I know some guys that like it cranked in the sun, but when I have tried, I can't see it either! I just leave mine at factory(5 I think) Sometimes I have to tilt it to block the glare, but it ain't no big deal for me, I am used to it. Anyway, point is, I don't think yours is malfunctioning, I just think maybe with summer coming on the sun is more intense and you noticed it more.?. I could be wrong, it wouldn't be the first time or the last, just my corroded two zincs. <IMG SRC="/forums/images/biggrin.gif" BORDER=0 ALT=":D">

I read it somewhere and tried it....it helps quite a bit....now I just gotta remember to put em back in the boat when I'm not MDing

I had it happen to me also, I had mine maxed, I turned it all the way down in bright sunlight and it works fine now, on cloudy days you will have to turn it back up....
