A friend just bought a new md last week, so I took him to my favorite
spot. I found a 1946 wheat and an unreadable date wheat. He found
a 1902 nickle, a ring that appears to have a ruby setting, and a cup/challis. Anyone know if the cup/challis is a toy or was for
something useful?? It sure is small. I was actually tickled that
he made some finds on his first time out. He was really pumped!

I found one o fthe mates to that nickel. The cup is likely a toy, like for a doll set.

You friend probably didn't know enough to skip those iffy targes. He just let his digger do the discriminating for him and there's his prizes. I find myself getting lazy sometimes and get that "I should have dug that" feeling after I have moved on. Ever get that feeling?
