Least expensive practical water machine?

Canewrap

New member
I'm planning on adding a water machine for occasional water work and was wondering what machine is considered the least expensive, but still worthwhile, when it comes to hunting in shallow fresh water or along shallow beach front?

well, under $600.00 the best water detector iv used is the Tesoro Tiger Shark.its built like a tank .it does have a salt mode that helps some on salt beach.it hits Gold chains and small gold better than most of the others and comes with a lifetime warranty! it does not detect as deep as my Excal ll and it doesn't have ID tones but for a mid price water machine i don't think it can be beat!

$300 range.........shallow water........lightweight.....easy to use......good in salt water. Range depth about 8 inches. Excellent machine for the money

Whites surf pro or surf pro ll PI, kellyco 594.00 shipped with free extras ask for Raul. They are tried and proven time and time again.the used ones at auction are 400.00 get one with the red gasket.

Bobbie.. I tested the Pirate and it didn't impress me.. its very noisy having the non adjustable sensitivity... its a decent starter detector or for someone not sure whether beach hunting is for them but after trying it, it would not be my first choice.. just my opinion..

as a matter of fact - Mic58 - is selling his i think.

We have one.........it works fine........just adjust the discrimination a little and it will find the targets. It is a machine for someone who wants something inexpensive and to use occassionally. Detector Pro designed this machine for the lower cost market........and it does work very well, J-man has found plenty of targets with it.

[size=medium]If you can afford it move up to the HeadHunter Wader. It also has a Sensitivity Control. I've got one and enjoy using it at all types of beaches. $585.00 with 8" loop.

don't know if I'd get the garrett seahunter mk ll, I'm having some issues with mine right now. Like only the left side of the coil working and the discrimination being a shot in the dark (if you're lucky). Save a couple of bucks and get the whites' beach hunter.

Bought a Whites BHID really like on land for gold ,wet and dry beaches great , but impossible in water.. Must be doing something wrong..

Why the trouble in the water??

I'm having a hard time getting repeatable signals .or is it suppose to be that way. I get lots of signals and the lights ,red, yellow, green show but when I try to pinpoint them or repeat them impossible to pin point..I try to pin point them in all metal and it is almost impossible. I was suggested to hunt in all metal ,which I did with not much luck. Perhaps some one using this detector could fill me in or contribute some pointers

Amen......Got one, love it, but haven't used it in salt water. Only fresh. Posted a few finds on the DetectorPro forum.

I have a Tesoro sandshark ITS A PI and fine detector 2 months old with 2 coils 8 and 10. I have used on 4 hunts and found gold with it .. PM Me if you like I'll give you a great deal....... guzz1
