I oringinaly ended up at this place when i got a phone call yesterday from the woman that lives there.
She got my number from the local feed store lookin for someone to remove a snake from her cellar.
I couldn't find the slitherin serpent yesterday so last evening i went back with a couple a fuzzy mice and a minnow trap.
After settin the trap Janet and I stood talkin with the couple fer a spell.
The house and 175 acre farm were originaly granted to a family in 1790 ( the house was actualy bilt in 1792)
by none other than General George Worshington.Yep, our Nations' 13th President.
( yes, George Washington was actualy our 13th President, not the first. He was the 1st ELECTED Prseident, but that's another story)
So anywho, this woman tells us all about the land grant and that when a parcel is granted as such, the owner does not have to pay propert taxes.
The farm was continualy passed on thru generation after generation until the current couple bought it way back when they were youngins.
They were the first non family members to own it and therfore the first folks to have to pay property taxes on it in allmost 200 years.
This all reminds me, i gotta git back there and check my trap.
