Learning to use my MXT

I have only had my mxt for a few short months and I am really having fun learning to use it. This my first Whites as all my others have been Garretts, which I also enjoy using. I wanted a detector that could detect gold along with coins and relics. If it detects gold like it does coins, it will be a great summer. I have only ran into one problem. I went to a long closed amusement park. The park has a pond that was used primarily for boating. The pond has a bottom of river rock over a plastic lining, and nothing else(per owner). When I attempted to search the bottom, the detector goes crazzzzzy. I made every adjustment I could think of but with no luck. I turned the sensitivty way down and still no luck. I tried one of my Garretts and got the same results. I don't have a clue why the dectectors will not operate properly. Anybody have an idea? I have enclosed a photo of my most recent finds on 05-03-06 to show you that I have been having fun with my MXT...... Dennis in Idaho

Sorry I don't know why the photo did not post. I don't know what I did wrong. I'll try again.

Hey JW you get around, Coming to Idaho this fall?

I'd like to but not sure what I'm doing yet. Your neck of the woods would be great for a little R&R.
