learning the xlt

- - so we can either:

A. Get one - For those who don't like trash, it might be just the ticket.
B. Avoid it - If it missed all that easy stuff, it's a good thing you retired it!

SO how are you finding the XLT, Tim?

By time we got together it was getting dark so we started with the back lite on the xlt.We started to pick up coin signals but realized couldn't see what we found when we dug a hole having a good time when i get that phone call i have to go home,so Tim rub it :rofl:in i usually don't get those calls .He pick up three quarters and a penny and a hot wheel car.Just started to get into hunting in the dark and then the phone call and fun was over.Called him Sunday he was working in yard and i was tuck pointing the foundation around my house did get out latter but only found penny dime and all the cans in the school yard.try and hunt this weekend with him.:detecting:

I wonder: with rings and Buff Nickles at 1-4," was it the detector - - or the site?

im going to guess its the detector.ive been there before with my other detector and only found sinkers. fred and i went into the park behind my house and i found these coins 4 to 5 inches down in areas that ive been over numerous times.my ace 250 would sure pick up nickles, but not like the xlt.

What hardware are you swing'n (coil) and are you hunting in presets or custom programs.

im using the bullseye 5.3.ive tried a custom program that fred uses, but it seems to go a little haywire the closer i get to the power lines. i know i can tweak it and make it stop but i havent played with it yet. i have been using the presets. they seem to do pretty good so far.i was using the jewelery/ beach preset when i hit the masonic ring and the buffalo nickle. it wasnt really beach, its more like mud with alot of rocks in it.
