Learning the Fisher F5...5 rings in 24 hrs!

So I am still getting used to my Fisher F5 but have hit a streak of interesting stuff over the past 24hours. All 5 rings were found at schools, none are marked, and I'm relatively certain they are all junk but its neat for me as I hadn't found a single ring since I started detecting 5 years ago. I am sort of "renewing" my interest and recently upgraded from an Ace 250. Today I also hit an old farm site and came away with some junk there (pick axe head, small fireplace shovel head, glass or ceramic lid for mason jar....had a metal ring around it) but have yet to find even a wheat penny or anything other than clad. I will keep trying, but the rings, regardless of if they are actually worth anything, made my weekend interesting.

Awesome! Rings are always a kick to find, valuable or not!
IN the last 4 years I have found 54 rings but only 5 of them have been good ones. But it is still fun to find them!
I think rings (real or not) are in between clad and silver for exciting and gratifying finds

I'll buy into that! Even the junk ones, at first glance, give me the thrill I was looking for when I bought my first detector.

Fisher F5 is a great detector for the price. Tons of info on internet. Google Fisher f5 tips. Sven has a lot of tips for it. Go to search on this forum and put in Fisher F5. Good Luck. Ken
