Learning the E-TRAC

Slowly but surely I am trying to "digest" some of the info on the E-TRAC and it seems to be working pretty well.... I went out for a couple of hours yesterday and was able to find some deep targets in an area near an old barn. The place was littered with wire, nails, and iron junk. Another reputable detector that was there didn't "see" it and when I put the CW bullet back in the bottom of the hole, that detector didn't make a whisper...

Here is what I ran:
Relic Mode
Audio ID 4
Audio ID Sounds Ferrous
Sensitivity Auto +3
Audio Response Normal
Recovery Deep ON
Recovery Fast On
Next time out , I will be changing my Ground to Difficult and my Trash Density to High
Too, I am going to work with the above Sensitivity Setting but may go to manual to push it as far as possible without any chatter....

This worked well for me but I am sure I will keep tweaking.
Please any comments on the above setting would be appreciated...... Best to all, Richard

BTW, Only found 2 William's Cleaner Bullets and a Union Staff Officer's button but under the circumstances, those finds were great...

Richard around here i have found the Auto +3 works best I some times go lower. I have tested many in ground targets buy raising and lowering the sensitivity. And would many times get the best signal at +3 or less. Give it a try.

I run my ET in auto+3 also the reason is the MD will reset faster. it is easy to get to manual by pressing the right arrow . I think the best thing about the E-trac is the way it runs in auto. And I never have to put fast on. Here's how I set it up. Gain 21 threshold pitch 15 deep on auto+3 pitch hold on coin mode with the top bar edited out ground difficult trash low I dont have relics to hunt for I mostly coin shoot good luck with your ET HH

When you guys are running in auto sens, what sensitivity is it usually running at?
When I've tried it around here, it's usually in the mid teens (straight auto, no + or - setting), yet I can generally run in manual in the mid- to high 20s and it's still pretty stable.
Thanks,
Mike

Depends on were I am hunting but between 19 - 24 but in the teens most of the time Still I have seen great depth with lower sens in auto+3. it finds what others have missed including the SE This is just my opinion I dont want to start a war saying one is better than the other the SE is a fine detector but I like the ET better HH RonC
