Learning new T2

Hello everyone
I have had a chance to get out and hunt about 2 hours a day the 3 days . My finds have been a1914 -15 WW2 coat button, insides
of an Elgin pocket watch lots of iron and nails, tin and alumunum and that good feeling you get when you find something you really
enjoy doing.
At first I thought I had made the wrong choice in buying a T2 as my first detector, I started in a really trashy spot and all the TID
signals(2,3or 4 ) in one sweep were overwhelming. I moved to another abandond house and it settled down a bit.
Now that I am learning what the T2 is telling me, I am amazed at its ability. I can tell if it is a small round peice or a long peice of iron by watching the TID as I sweep over the target, even the difference between 4 penny nail and a16 penny nail.
Now, if I can get my coil over some copper, silver and nickel or more old buttons or CW relics or?
Maybe tomorrow.
See Yall Good Luck
Kenny

...is its slow sweep speed and target separation. That's why I call it the "trash picker". Remember, in a trashy house site GO SLOW.

every one has been saying that they like it because you can sweep it fast. the manual says you go deeper if you swing fast. now you're saying to sweep slow. maybe thats why i haven't found anything good yet. thanks.

Thanks Horsesoldier
Being new to detecting I thougt I had to keep the coil moving in a sweeping motion to detect, but Im finding with theT2 that
I can move the coil an inch or 2 and it still gets a signal. The button I found was at 5 inches (measured) and I was barely moving my coil. I appreciate Your advice and enjoyed Your past posts.
What part of SC are You? I lived in Eastover, between Columbia & Sumpter 1967-69.
Good luck to You

that is one reason why i like it, not real sensitive to sweep speed, fast in the open slow it down in the trash

All I know is I did an air test with mine and when I went slow it would hardly pick it up. Go fast and it would sing out at the same distance. I am still wondering if mine is set right.
