Learning my Vaquero-air test

homebre

Member
I got my Vaquero this past week and want to get more accustomed to it. I am still not good at ground balance even though I watched the video. However, I wanted to do an air test with different metals. Here is a summary of what I found. Please tell me if it makes sense, so I know I am getting the adjustments approx. correct.

I set the discriminator at past max and ran thru the metals I had:
Max+: silver coin and cheap commemorative of unknown origin +
one tickmark before max: all above and lead and brass key +
two tickmarks before Max: all above and brass bullet casing + and gold ring barely +
TAB: All above, and Aluminum bullet casing becomes positive and gold is strong +
5c: all above, nickel plated bullet casing and nickels +, aluminium foil weak +
Iron: all above and large paper clip +

Thanks for your help.
