Learned something on nickles today....

I went out with the 3D today to find nickels only. After about 3 hours today, 33 nickles later, and a lot of tabs. I found something out about my unit. Not sure if everyones is the same or not. I found if the salt mode says nickle and the enhanced mode doesn't...it's not a nickle. If the enhanced mode says it is a nickle and the salt mode doesn't..not a nickle. Only when both modes showed nickle was it right...100% of the time. What I ran into was salt said nickle, enhanced said tab...it was a square tab. When enhanced said nickle..salt said foil...it was a square tab as well. Again, not sure all are the same or not, but if I want 100%, then this is what I do. Hope this helps someone or at least opens a eye for others. I was noticing the trend and had to prove it to myself today. Good luck to all.

Buffs, Sheidls, and V nickles that read tinfoil nickle bounce or tinfoil in the salt mode, then switch to enhanced mode and you get the nickle tone then dig it. If you hunt the other Cz's always dig the tinfoil nickle bounces even if they are not deep. If you get a deep solid tinfoil signal dig it period, on any CZ. The nice thing about the CZ3 is you have two different machines and they both read different. If you are in the salt mode and get a nickle round tab bounce it is a round pull tab with the beaver tail connected. :D: :D:. Sorry to mess up your day but think of the Sheilds, Buffs and the V's you might have missed :D: :D:. Just some info from a old Fisher guy that has hunted with them for over 20 years. Later Jerry aka Tinfoil.

You are right I am sure, that is why I wanted to put this out there to get a idea as well. I will say none of them had a bounce at all and all where 5" or less. Now I know..thank you for the info. This is how we learn and need all the help I can get.

Basically if your looking for modern Jefferson nickles use the reguar mode and if your looking for older nickles( buffalo, V, and shield use the advanced mode as thats the concept of the CZ3D..Actually experimentation is the name of the game and know some who switch to salt mode from regular mode with convential CZ's on certain targets and am sure have learned little tricks along the way..
Thanks for the input and just remember the concept of a CZ3D..regular for new places and advanced for older places..Now if you in an old place that is still being used today what mode you use taking into consideration how much trash your digging is up to you..No unit is perfect and if hunting in the aforementioned area sort of defeats the concept of the latest CZ3D...
