Learned Something New Today

I had a brand new Lesche digger for some time and I kept putting off using it. Larry kept telling me I would love it. Ha! Was he wrong. I hated it and I only lasted one yard before putting it back in it's holster. I disliked the way I made my plugs and scooped the soil out. Then to top it off, I dug a Barber dime and scratched that sucker! :ranting: I knew I scratched it before I even saw it out of the dirt. I've not done that in a L-O-N-G time! Now I understand why so many of Larry's coins have a dingy on them.

So, what I learned today is that I HATE the Lesche and will sell it. I went back to my little Whites digger for the rest of the day. Aww, welcome back home little digger!! :inlove:

Pictures to come later.

Here's my finds from the last two days. The 1911 Barber has a nice "ding" smack dab in the middle. :veryangry: The 1905 English Half Penny sure sounded good and I thought I might have gotten my first U.S. Large cent, but no such luck. I'm still happy with the English coin. Had a good time out and about. The ground was perfect to retrieve targets. Sure hope others were able to get out and do some detecting. HH!

Nice finds. Too bad about the Barber but we've all dinged a coin now and again and it always seems to be a good coin we ding. Is that a dog tag on the upper right? I think I see the word Woodford and the item sure looks interesting.

Yes, it's a Woodford Co. Rabies tag from 1984, so not all that old. Are you talking about the thingy under the dog tag, middle right? In fact I've got a few of them here that Mom gave me. I was wondering if anyone knew what it was.

Yes, that's right. It's the metal parts of an old basting brush. The little hammer has a plastic handle. Sure is heavy though.and cute. Might come in handy for small jobs.

You're not bothering me one bit. The small black handle shovel that's got a 6" steel blade. It's smaller and a lot less weight to carry around. HH, Nancy

This is a White's digger Nancy speaks of, many metal detector manufactures makes a small high quality digger to recover targets with. The cheaper garden trowels that look similar don't last very long when subjected to the abuse we put them through........:stretcher:
