"Learn" Function

Does the CTX 3030 have a "Learn function" like the Explorer did where you could press "learn" and run an object under the coil and then it would only identify "like" items? Is there a quick set up for this if it exists? I need to hunt for an item in a few hours. The person has an identical item to the one that I will be looking for. There's lots of nearby metallic objects that are driving my detector crazy. Thank you for any ideas. Jody...

I'm not sure about a learn option, but you can run your coil over the like item, than build a pattern with everything discriminated out, except an area where the item appears. Make the area large enough that you will still get a hit if the target I'd varies a little.

Yes it can learn a target to either accept or reject it. U can also determine the size of the reject/accept area.

Yes, you can teach (program) the CTX3030 so that it will Accept or Reject a metal Target as you want it to, by placing the target near coil to be detected and selecting the size of the Edit Frame and ticking ( to Accept) or crossing (to Reject) the area that that frame occupies and is being detected. It's pretty much like the Explorer does. When ever I have done this , I usually the drop Sensitivity right down to Manual 1. For me it's a carry over habit from my Explorer days.

If you read page 8 , Detect Screen and page 9 of the CTX3030 Instruction Manual

https://www.minelab.com/__files/f/116626/4901-0117-4%20Inst%20Manual,%20CTX%203030%20EN.pdf

it'll explain how to.
