Leaky Waders...advice needed

Neoprene with boots...got a leak on the outside right leg just above the boot a couple of inches, I cannot find an obvious hole, so it must be a small puncture...heres the question, is there any kind of off the shelf spray like an automotive undercoating that adheres to neoprene? I'm looking for quick and cheap. Spray it on the outside or inside? I want to go in the water this afternoon, and though a leak wont stop me, it is an annoyance to get a soaked leg in 32 degree water..

Hope you're sorted mate. I use black witch wetsuit repair, it is like toothpaste but flexible,,it seals everything! You can patch neoprene patches to stuff with it. It's handy stuff, about 3 dollars on line. Good luck on the hunt :)

Thanks WW...I'll know for sure tomorrow morning...I could not find the actual puncture, no matter what I did, so I smeared enough silicone around where I hope some of it seeped in somewhere! Ha! In about 5 months I wont need the waders anyway, the water will have warmed up to a point that's acceptable for a wetsuit! I don't know how those gold prospectors or anyone worked around water back in the 1800's without waders at all...

I've used this for my duck hunting waders that leaked before. It works for a while but eventually it will leak again. You can always check out Cabela's waders that come with a really good warranty.

Some Mudpuppy you are(waterdog):nopity:just kidding. Auqaseal is what I have used in the past and has worked well. Take an old tooth brush and alchohol and clean the area good before applying the sealer. Good luck. HH :minelab::fisher::teknetics:

Thanks again fellas...don't think I'm going out today, wind is W at 40, huge surf, wind chill @5F...nope, not going out at all!

Use aquaseal on skullies...the best, and i've used several..while testing...aquaseal needs 24 hours to dry, but you can use Cotol-240 to cut the time to about 30 minutes..Good stuff also..Just got the biggest tube of aquaseal I have ever seen...21 dollars 8oz

Put the Auqua Seal in the freezer after it's been opened and it keeps for long time, it only takes about 10 minutes to thaw out and its ready to use.

Thats a good tip, Sandman told me that several years ago, never had any left over the do that, but this time I think I will........

If you're not planning on using your waders anytime soon, fill up the side of the wader that is leaking and see where the water leaks out and mark it and patch it. It's leaking and getting wet anyway and let it dry after you repair it. Then go find some good stuff in the water. Good luck.

I'm not sure tis will work with your waders but i use a flashlight working from the inside out on reg, waders in a dark room(bathroom) and shine the light around till i see the light thru the hole then mark it with a felt pen and clean and seal it..just flex the rubber in the area where the leak is to find the hole
