Lead piece

Found this lead piece in an area that I've been pulling CW lead, not sure if it dates to that era or not. At first I thought it was a piece of carved lead, til I cleaned it off, seems to have more of a molded look to it. The bottom is very smooth. Kinda looks like it might be the leftover lead after using a mold of some sort??? Any ideas would be appreciated!

Looks like the cast off of a pour...

That's what I was thinking, I found this mold that has 3 items in one mold, wouldn't make the same cast-off that I have, but I'm betting it's from something similar. My other guess was that it was maybe from a pinewood derby car, holes drilled in the front and lead poured in to make it faster.

Mold came with this description...

early

Another possibility is the base to a lead toy soldier set piece. I found one from WWI, so I'm sure they were around then.

Wow, that's really cool!! It looks exactly like it. The piece is a little over an inch and a half in width. How cool is that, I hope you're right.
