LEAD ON AN OLD MILITARY DUMP SITE

Got a good lead from a ditch digger today. He told me he was digging up old bottles and brown bones. Needless to say he got my attention. When he said where he got them, I knew it was the old military dump area I've dug before. So off I went and braved the 90 degree heat. These are some of my best finds.
1. A Hortsman cuff button with gilding.
2. My first Zouave civil war era ball button
3. 2 unfired .58 caliber mini balls
I also found a boat load of 45/70 shells, most of which date to 1880's, with a fews from 1870's.

Brown bones?

Yes Daddy, brown bones;
They had horses and I suppose they slaughtered their own cows and pigs to feed the troops here. When you dig em up their dark brown. We also had a lot of Native American activity here, but I think it was from the Fort Sherman activity.
