Lead Musketball...from what era?

I found this in a creek in Northern Utah. I believe it to be a lead musketball. Am I correct about that? I am a newbie to metal detecting.

What I would like to know is when this might have been made and used? Any idea of how old it could be? It has a noticeable seam that wasn't cleaned up too well. It also has a small, flat surface on it. It has a tan patina in many places that won't clean off with just water. It is quite heavy even though I would estimate it to be about 10mm.

Let me know what you think! Thanks! :)

I seen an ep of diggers where they found something that looked like that and was a rare musket ball so who knows sure not me, but someone would know hope they drop in for you..
