LCD Problems

I have a new Explorer XS (2 days old) and its ehibiting some problems related to the LCD screen. The first thing I noticed was the right half of the screen would drop down about 1/4 inch from the left, so the screen is off horizontally. Typically when pressing a button which requires the detector to rewrite the screen. Powering the detector off and back on fixes this. It happened maybe half a dozen times so far. Today when I really started getting into the menus and selecting different options the problem got worse. The right half still dropped down but also bits and pieces of black started appearing where they should not be while navigating menus. At one point the whole right half seemed to disapear and the left half was too garbled to read. Again powering the detector off then on fixed this. Computers have problems from time to time and you have to reboot them, no big deal but this is more frequent than I would consider acceptable. I have powered off/on perhaps a dozen times within about 3 hours of use.
So is this a known issue? If not would you recommend exchanging the unit?

I think there is a definite problem with your unit. I wouldn't wait for the problem to correct itself. Sorry to hear about your bad luck because these are really fine units (when working properly).

possibly could have been the heat today, but I was out 4 hours and have hunted on hotter days without that happening.. better send it in if it keeps up

Maybe it was the heat, I can't remember if I saw the problem in the house before we went out. It was like Texas hot Saturday. I used it all day Sunday and made heavy use of the menus without a single problem when it was a lot cooler, only 85. Thanks for the input.
