So the 53d was found next to the sidewalk in front on my house about 3 to 4 inches down (a couple of weeks ago, did not have camera at the time). The 1919 was found around 7 to 8 inches down.

Those all copper pennies are fun to find compared to the stinkin Zincolns. Nice depth with the 250. Really helps the confidence lever when that happens HH and keep it up:thumbup:

WTG!!! The oldest wheat Ive fund so far was right
in front of my house in the grass ao\long the curb

Nice,

Thanks all. Was really out in the yard just messing around with different settings on the 250 and did not expect to really find anything. Had the sens set all the way up. Never had tried that before but thought, why not give it a try? Also found a few of the square or "cut" nails at or around the same depth. The house we live in is over 100 years old and I was somewhat baffled that I hadn't found any really old stuff like the nails before this. I think what has happened is over the years as the yard has settled fill dirt has been brought in, hence the depth of what I found. I think I might invest in a 6x12 coil for the ace just to see what else I might find.

Yeah, those zinc's tend to deteriorate over a short amount of time. Oh well I keep them anyways, along with everything else I find, and yes I should probably be on that "Hoarders" show..........

Make sure and weigh all the 1983 lincoln cents. Some of them were made on the copper blanks and weigh around 3.1 grams instead of the 2.48-2.52 grams of the zincs.

I live in a house built in 1901, big old place in the "historic" district of our burg, found probably 150 coins in the yard on and off over the years with different detectors, not one Wheatie or silver in the bunch! Always had to go elsewhere to find those! Folks who lived here musta always been broke, lo! You go outside and find Wheaties in your yard...that's great! Keep searching it. HH
