Has anybody heard about a second wave of the new Garrett line after the new ACE (150, 250) line is launched. I've been hearing that something is in the works. Maybe a "multi frequency" upgrade...

Wouldn't it made sense to introduce the latest new Garret high end machines( if there were some), during their 40TH anniversary year? They could of said look at where we are now...the culmination of 40 yrs experience building metal detectors?? I'm really surprized that Garrett would let such an opportunity slip by. Just as Fisher and Tesoro have done ; it's time for some new management at Garrett too; just one man's opinion.

Why fix what ain't broke...I realize just like mens suits changing lapels etc. sell...as everyone wants the new style...We must remember revamping present detectors cost bucks and ends up with more expensive units passed onto the consumer..

The year isn't over yet.

I'd like to see the pinpoint mounted in the front of the grip as a compression trigger that you just squeeze to enter pinpoint.

You can't say Garrett is not doing anything on their 40th anniversary. They've already released two great entry level detectors and a mid-range machine. The new profiling feature is ingenious and nobody else has it. They've also introduced the best general purpose elliptical coil on the market. That's a pretty impressive achievement for one year. I'm sure they're working on a new high-end machine too, but they aren't going to release it until they get it perfected. Just because their current high-end machines have been out for a while doesn't mean they aren't still great performers. The GTI detectors continue to have features that no other machine can match.
