Went back to the old home site today for a couple of hours after work - found a 43-S Washington Quarter; 1900 Indian Head Cent; three wheaties: 1920, 1944, & 1944-D; Missouri Sales Tax Receipt; and a button. Not too bad, except them darn little black pirate bugs were out like mad today and it seems like bug dope doesn't even faze the little buggers. HH - Hawkeye Jim.

Well, I'm not really sure on their official name, but they are very tiny black bugs about the size of a pinhead with a mouth about the size of a shark!!! Seems like the only time of the year they show up is in the fall - don't know where they originated from, but never had them years ago. For such little things, they pack a BIG bite and bug spray don't seem to bother them. Hawkeye Jim.

usually your local County Extension Service can give you some information. May one of several types of critters referred to as no-see-ums.

Iowa - you don't see them flying like mosquitos, but all of a sudden they're just on you and they love white material - looks just like a real small black bug. They're a real pest this time of year!!!!!!!!!!!!
