Latest adventure with the Vaq

Sunday's trip involved detecting in the thickest brush imaginable. I was rewarded with some cool coins and relics including an Indian Head with awesome emerald toning, various buttons and buckles, and the smallest ox shoe I've ever seen. The Indian Head was actually stuck to the bottom of a rock. I'd pulled the rock out of the hole and lost the signal with my pinpointer. Rescanned with the Vaquero and it sounded off on the rock. I thought it was a hot rock and had half a mind to chuck it in the woods. Luckily I turned it over and saw the Indian Head stuck to the underside. I think being under that rock is what protected it from corrosion and allowed it to develop that amazing, green toning.

Happy hunting all...

By the looks of your relics, it seems likely that you will dig up a large 1

Those are some neat looking relics. Definitely a great place to detect. I'd being digging everything that didn't discriminate above nails.

Awsome spot & finds , those pictures really stir me up to get out , that indian really is in good shape, this spot may have other coins in just as good of condition and by the amount of non ferrous, its not been hunted , that is an exiting spot

Thanks all for the nice comments. I hope I get a few more chances to hit this spot before the leaves come in.
