Had a couple of things going this morning, so didn't get swinging until about 10:30 and when I pulled into the site, saw tabman swinging away up on a iron infested knoll. I walked out onto the field on the other side of a small bridge and within five minutes got a faint signal with a reading of 88-91, with a lot of 90's showing. Just knew it was. And, it was! From 7," got a Barber quarter that was on edge. Grabbed my camera and the on/off button was stuck. Got it to work when I got home. Knew the Barber was worn, but upon getting it out of my pill water bottle at home, it looked like a salt water beach recovery. The 1915 is legible, however. It did come out of a low spot and water was seeping into the hole I had dug, so maybe that the cause of its nasty looking condition. About fifteen minutes later working the side of a ditch got a nice 83-84 reading and popped the 57d Rosie from about 4." Last Sat I hunted for a couple of hours and dug the 1908 V nickel that is also toasted. I dug the flat piece of lead and the 53 wheat and the coin with 12 on it today. I think the flat piece of lead might be a civil war period lead tag. Not shown is the clad and cents I also dug today. Had a nice modern 4 clad quarter and 3 clad dime coin spill along a sidewalk. There is still stuff around, just gotta inch your way along and eventually something good will turn up. HH jim tn

Nice recoveries my friend... I'm so impressed with how you operate that At Pro.. In your hands it is a wicked coin finder....

These fields have gotten numerous doses of fertilizer over the years. Maybe fertilizer run off accumulated in that low area and over time was eating the Barber up?????? Thanks ole buddy. HH jim tn

Jim you're silver vacuum cleaner. That's a fantastic showing on such a short hunt.

I finally ended up with some silver. My swinging arm about fell off, but I got it.:)

Whatever you got, you deserve it. You had a frosty and early start and a long day of hunting. That's good, that will slow you up tomorrow. HH jim tn

I do much better when I slow down. I was moving really fast today to keep from freezing to death.:) It's gonna be a lot warmer tomorrow, but windier.

Wow Jim darn good hunting. Toasty coins - remind me of farm field recoveries so the fertilizer and low spot idea seem likely.
Congrats!

Nice variety, Jim. Many would have missed the deep Barber on edge, another testament to your sharp ears!
