Last weeks scratchings

I was able to get into some ground around tree roots last week. One neat copper was a roached 1918 Wheat. I found a munched mystery ring with internal stampings C.Co. (then some stamping or backward C with a dot in the center ?), below that what looks like Ster 128 ? This whole weird obtuse marking kind of reminds me of Mexican tourist junk. Any thoughts on this ?

Not sure on the ring otherwise ok on the goodies.

Nice! I think thats silver...from the looks of it...whats it smell like? My Wife and daughter smell silver .
Mud

Looks like someone was stealing parking meters and smashing them open to get the coins. I have also found parking remnants. I once found a quarter that someone missed too!

From sitting waiting for the big thaw, to beans, and a NEWFOUNDLAND penny which I have never seen to then clicking on photos for more than 45 minutes before I had to leave for a hunt; I must award you the WINNER.

I have never seen such a collection for one to be so prepared for any outing event. Interesting and enlightening!

I remember a news story about people smashing meters when it was intensely cold out because the metal was brittle then.

Thanks. As with most of us, a lot of it was never photographed. The pot of beans thing is silly but I did that on an outdoors forum discussing these knives. And I sold that one off a while back. I also know that whatever I have found is likely a pittance to what some folks here have collected, and that is humbling.

Being able and getting out to enjoy your hobby with the addition of nature is wonderful. Having pictures to reminisce over in my book is a necessity. It looks like you have one wonderful life going for you.

Somehow the one picture did not attach...you on the stump waiting for the big thaw.

Enjoy...I know you are one of the few that really do enjoy what, when and were you pursue your ambitions.

Thanks. Dec. 18th I believe the picture says. This was an unusual cold snap because of the Polar Vortex and the lake ice was already thick enough for ice fishing. I took a splitter axe out and chopped a hole to see the thickness. The wife mentioned some ice fishing for Perch but we never got around to it.
