Here's some of the better stuff I dug last week...

Half a Eagle Plate ....Oh well !!
1863 Liberty head Army Navy Token..
1862 Patent Suspender clip top right one..
Dang cow tag thought it was a Buckle sounded great!!
Few 3 Ringer's
J-Hook
Sash Buckle..

And quite Possible the biggest horseshoe I have ever seen?

I seem to remember something about the oxen they used back then for hauling big wagons, that they shoed them. Could be wrong...but if they did, they would have far larger hoofs than a horse. Heck, dont know if a cow can even be shoed but all I can say is I read or heard something about it one time.

Never been on a Paid hunt....Sort of a loaner I guess:)

Thanks

Yes, you are right. Wasnt thinking..and should have known.

I Just wanted to know how it works in nasty soil. I was at a hunt this past weekend, but did not use the AT PRO. I stuck with my old reliable machine that I know much better in that nasty soil.
Thanks

Totally awesome dude!:super:Great hunt!:garrett::detecting:Congrats on the nice finds!:beers:
That's the biggest horse shoe that I've ever seen myself as well!:surprised:
Here's an example of what ox shoes look like for those who are interested.

on the AT I have found the pro mode the only mode to use period......I like to leave iron audio on....iron disc on 31/32 and accept all notches....Sens wide open...

pretty straight forward....when in trash/iron go slow.....that is "one" of my favorite feature's on the AT is it's ability to retain depth with a slow sweep speed...really let's you say meander around a site...Seems to not have a problem with pinestraw robbing you of depth so that's a plus for most of my hunt area's...

Tt also has an uncanny ability to I.D. pretty dang close to actual isolated target I.d. even when target is co-located with iron......

Watch the area below 40 if you are running Iron disc below that say at 32 or whatever it maybe with iron audio on ... target's that read 33-74 will be mid tone ...the 33 or whatever you use for disc up to 40 is usually larger iron like gun part's and horseshoe's and such and I.D perfectly like that with corresponding mid tone...but if you get a 33-40 range target reading and it High tone's you better dig for sure....

Seems the less than 40 I.D. uses a different setting(algorithm)...maybe more of a averaging instead of like the 40-99 i.d that is real time ...

so keep that in mind for sure...I mainly go by tone anyway but the I.D does help on certain target's if you want to take extra special effort in extracting...

My thought's on setting's and what I see right now....Could change as time goes on... not the setting's but the I.D. reading's...

I find it does very well....

I will be truthful here from what I am seeing ...

it does very well in bad dirt that some other high freq machine's although great machine's struggle with.....some machine's like to call deep target's iron in bad dirt as you know well the AT will get a splattery on the deepies but still gives enough audio info to allow you to investigate...

one thing about the AT is you can manipulate your Ground Bal. to allow the deepies to bleed in without any or much falsing at all...it will wash the signal a little but it is better than just going straight to grunt like other machine's will do....

very weird Ground Balance system it has but I like it...When coupled with the Pro iron audio it allows extreme ground to give up "some" target's...

again spend some time on the machine and the Audio and experiment with setting's...get some real hour's on it before making any kind of dismissing decision's
