Last weekend finds

Larry (IL)

Well-known member
I just got the finds from the "Robbie hunt" washed off and spread out. Wow, I didn't realize I dug that much clad. It has been a long time since I went clad hunting even though that was not my intent at the time. Someone has already hunted that area hard and rescued the silver and two cent pieces.....:ranting: but hey, clad and jewelry is fun too. At least the parks were not hunted out..... The watch is a Guess and the ring is pretty but a cheapo, thanks again Robbie for the fun times.

Here's one thing Larry didn't tell you guy's. When he was hitting that clad I don't think he got up for 20 minutes. Every time I looked over Larry was digging up a coin. Then we meet back up with Daryl. I think as it turned out Larry found roughly 70 coins, Daryl probably had at least 40 and last there was me. I found a whopping 10 coins. You talk about feeling like a total rookie. They both smoked me. :please:

Good haul Larry. That was an awsome park for clad. Robbie, you're not a rookie. You didn't hit the right spot. Check between the pavillion and the road where the market is held. I passed up at least a dozen good targets in that area and suspect that there are many many more there. Can't wait to get back to see you and Lesa and hunt with you again. Daryl

Daryl, Have you found out anything about your knife yet? It sure is a pretty thing and an awesome find. Oops, did I let the cat out of the bag??? HH, Nancy

I agree with Daryl that you are no rookie Robbie, just new to the DFX. You were doing everything right trying to hear some deep signals but when they are not there you can pick up the pace and cover more ground looking for shallower targets. It's just a personal preference though and there could still had been a good deep find there for you and you would have shown US up.

Nancy, there is no secret about the knife. I haven't posted about it because I have not even cleaned the dirt off of it yet. For anyone interested it is a Crosman 760 pellet rifle 20 year anniversary pocket knife. It was made around 1984 and is in very nice condition.

And it is a beauty for sure. Surprisingly since it was so deep. Must be a good quality knife. Will have to do some research on it. Thanks Daryl. HH, Nancy
