Last Two Hunts

Said I'd put up some pics from my last hunts. These were found in dry soil, and came out in great shape. The silver dollar and 1859 Canadian large cent were found in some celluloid kind of wrapper and are in great shape (No scratches or pitting!). The rest are from my hunt in Eastern Washington.

Those finds make for a couple of great hunts, congratulations.

[size=medium]I enjoy hunting in many locations of Eastern Oregon and Eastern Washington, and Idaho, Utah, Nevada, Colorado and other places than here in western Oregon because, most of the time, you get nicer looking coins right out of the ground. :)

It appears you had a good site or two and I hope you can get back and work them some more. just curious what detector/coil combination you were using?

Monte, On those two hunts, I was just running with the 950 on my DFX. (Little extra preamp, AC @78, +1 offset on Jewelry Beach) Both areas had hard pan @ 8" and were fairly trash free. When it's like that I usually just search all metal mode and then go main program for the ID.

The neat thing about the first hunt was it was going back to a spot that I'd detected as a kid. It was just a parking strip but...in 1979 (when I searched it for the first time) I was pulling out so much silver I had to stop because of the attention I was getting. Never was able to get back until 29 years later!!! (That place was an itch that finally got scratched!) Definitely had been hunted since but obviously not well. When the snow clears, I'll give it another go.

The thing that excites me is the soil is so neutral that most stuff comes out in excellent shape! Come on AU Barbers!!!!!!!!! (You can always dream!) Here in western Washington, like western Oregon, stuff rarely comes out as consistently clean as that.

Some great hunting, the sort most of us drool over.
