Last Sunday's Hunt.....

wasn't much of one

Conchita dropped me off around 6 at a woods I had high hopes for and the very 1st thing I did in the dark was step in a big pile of dog doodoo!

I've never seen an area so littered with gun shell's but so devoid of finds. I think I dug every gauge & caliber ever known.

This area is about 60 acres with an abandoned dirt road running through it. The road is now used as a hiking trail. The 14K bracelet showed on the trail around 10:30. Came in as a low broken foil signal and if it hadn't been for a couple of links sticking out of the ground I would have ignored it. Even balled up in the hand it would only give a +04 on the XLT. Conchita claimed it when she picked me up at 7:30. The coin is a very corroded 1852 bank token. I think I like the wild boar sporting button best.

I've been practicing hunting gold this year but although I know gold is worth more it doesn't give me the same thrill that an old coin or button will.

Thanks for looking & GH, Chris
