Last Sunday's finds

Went hunting around an old home last Sunday that dates back to around 1822.
I had two buddies hunting with me and we all found silver coins and much clad.
I found a no date large cent and three wheat pennies and got one silver dime dated 1919S.
The residence was at one time an old store and stage stop and is built practically right on the road and has no front yard, but a nice back yard and side yards.
Should be some more old coins in there, but we didn't find them that day... we'll be back!
Thanks for looking,
Felix

Nice Finds. I always have a hard time getting the deep older coins when grass is present. I think you guys have a lot of older coins there to find. It has helped me a bit to slow down and concentrate on a small patch near the house. My finds get deeper when I do this. A good soaking rain the night before helps, too.. Good luck and HH.

SWEET FINDS!!!!!! LOVE THE LARGE CENT (WISH I COULD GET ONE OF THOSE):clapping:

Yea sweet finds, keep your coil to the soil!!!!

It's been peeing down the rain for two days now....Maybe it's time to head back there once it stops

How deep was the large cent? I would love to find one, but my detector rarely picks anything up deeper than 8".

I have found 3 large cents in 3 different yards and they were only about 2-3" deep.
I think because of the large surface area, the coin does not sink in the ground like some smaller coins. Just my opinion though.
I found an 1861 seated liberty half dollar a few months ago and it was only about 2" deep.
It is nice to know you can find deep stuff, but it does not have to be deep to be old.
I know I have proved this to myself with these finds.
If you have an ID detector, the large cent will come in as a quarter.
Don't give up, you will find one if you keep searching!!
Good luck,
Felix
