Last of June Gold Finds

Treasure Mike

New member
Found the kid's bracelet this week. The rings were found in June. Anyway the bracelet is 10K and registered a 6 on the MXT with the Bigfoot Coil in the wood chips and weighs 5 grams. The ring marked 585 (14K) I found at a park in the turf at about 4 inches deep. 5.7 grams and hit at 36 to 40 on the VDI meter. Although 4 inches does not sound that deep, it is one of the deepest rings I have found. Most are less than 2 inches deep. The 10K small diamond ring was found in the wood chips at a playground and hit at 10-12 on the VDI meter. The 14K kid's signet ring was found under the slide down about an inch in the wood chips and weighs 2.3 grams. As you can see I have started digging targets with low VDI numbers and it is paying off, especially in the tot lots with wood chips. We have a lot of ethnic groups here near the airport (Seatac- south of Seattle a few miles) and their kids wear a lot of gold jewelry. Some of my best finds have been at tot lots- followed by sports fields. Thanks for looking!

Great finds. I have been working a park here that is nothing but soccer pitches and baseball diamonds. Last year I snagged a heavy gold ring with a few diamonds in it. I too have been working the low VDIs hoping for another ring or two. Other than tons of foil, sport drink caps and crushed foil I have found a small gold ear ring. This is slow going but does pay off as you find lots of coin that others have missed also, especially coins on edge. They can read really strangely.

WOW!!!!! June certainly was a good month for you, Mike. If my count is right, the gold items you scored were a bracelet, a chain, 3 pendants, and 4 rings. Congratulations, that is outstanding. Bet you are still smiling.

And, you have already started July with a gold bracelet.

Continued good luck and have fun, Bob

Very nice gold finds!!!
I also have found nice looking rings in the woodchips and the playground areas in parks. The grown ups lose their jewelry pushing the children on the swings and also when catching them coming off the slides. And lots of teens use the swings also....to hang out and talk to each other.
