Out on the sand last night with my new WOT coil on the end of my Sov GT. What a great combination, runs just like the stock coil, but goes deeper and is much more sensitive. The tone differential between the targets was good before, now it's astonishing. Dime, penny, quarter, etc.... I new what it was going to be before it came out of the sand. All of the finds were in the wet sand to 2' deep in the surf. The neckless is marked 925 and measures 22", elephant pendant is also sterling. It never fails, when the wife and I get down to the sand there is ALWAYS something wrong with her machine (identical to mine). Usually she has the threshold to low, or the volume turned down on the headphones. This time I could sense her level of frustration so I offered to switch rigs, she accepted without hesitation. A few minutes later we're both on the wet sand 20 yards apart. I put on the headphones make my adjustments to the Sov, take a swing and there is a target on the first pass. So I guess that would be a half a swing, I haven't even taken a step yet! Low and behold out comes the neckless. I hail the misses on the walkie, she turns to see me swinging the chain that I just dug with HER machine, that wasn't working properly. Priceless!

a good hunt wtg
The only time we hunt in discrimination mode is in the dry sand. We're pretty much always in the wet, hunting using reverse discrimination in the pinpoint mode, with the sensitivity almost at full. The WOT is amazing! That said, we hunted 2 days in a row, even with using the swingy thingy my shoulder just quite on me after 4 hours on the 2nd day. I was being facetious with the comments about the wife, we hunt together all the time. It had been quite awhile since we've been out, she was just a little rusty. She's an expert and often kicks my but. I'm the one who says it's time to go, she'll say out all night if I let her.
