New member
A Devil's head, heavily gold plated ( thanks Coenwolf :) )a scatter of Victorian and George 3rd coppers, a barrel lock, Roman weight, George 3rd milled silver, 1816, Elizabeth 1st shilling, and a medieval coin weight

WTG Blue,

Nice finds, I seen you mentioned barrel lock...Is this the arrow thingy and what is a barrel lock?

Congrats, Paul (Ca)

exactly what it says paul ,the farmers used to take out beer ,wine, spirits to the field workers in barrels to quench there thirst at harvest time .the barrel would have a tap fitted and to stop the workers helping themselfs it would be locked and only opened by the key that fitted it which was only held by the farmer or foreman .taps locks and keys are quite common finds over here

nice little lot there blue ,old nicks looking quite good now thats one hell of a thick gold plating ,well done

Hunting in all that old ground....Wait a minute...wasn't my ground made at the same time yours was.....hehehe guess you got find rich soil! :detecting:
