I went back to my old standby spot (IH park) Sunday for a couple hours. My luck has been good there and the spot is consistent in giving many targets.
I've covered about 80% of the park since last September and because of it's size I've been giving it an initial "skim" in most parts (a little faster and less "tight"
on the sweeps) with the intent of going over it again. I decided to go back over some of the first area I hit last year and I was still finding IHs and early wheats.
I figured I would because the targets had been plentiful the first time. Also, the first time I was digging only deeper targets. This time I was checking shallower
targets but avoiding most VERY shallow targets. Another reason for concentrating on deeper targets is that I have to limit my digging because I could very well be on "borrowed time" if the right people start to complain about me digging there.
Just before it got too dark, I decided to start on a new spot before I left. Right away I pulled up an 1892S Barber quarter.
My finds this time:
1892S (first year) Barber quarter (yes, I did rice it - lol)
8 IHs - 1880, 1882, 1888, 1901, 1902, 1907, 1908(2)
7 wheats ALL pre-1920!! 1909, 1914(2), 1915D, 1917, 1919, 1919D
Thanks for sharing.

Nice finds Bruce.:clapping: I think we have all riced a coin or two, but still a nice Barber. I have never gotten more then one Indian on a single outing. Looks like you have a great spot with lots of more finds yet to be discovered. GL & HH on your next trip back.
