Last hunt

Well, the weather is finally cooling off enough that I can get out for a while. Didn't do a lot of good, but it sure was fun just being OUT where there were no humans to bug me, lol. I really get tired of people after working in this pawn shop all week, lol. As you can tell by the pics, I don't just hunt metal all the time. There's lots of arrowheads around here too, which I'm having a hard time finding now. But I digress...
The first couple of pics are of the beach I hunted. The lake is low, and weeds have taken over more than half of it.

I thought I was onn to something here. It was deep and shiney, like gold. But after closer inspection, I discovered it's just an old cheap watch case

I did find two wheats and a few clads. And there's one penny that had a cross cut out of it some how? Not nearly as good as I had hoped, but it just makes me want to go even more now, lol. This is the same beach I found the '44 Walking Liberty.

I can relate to a preference to hunting at an isolated areas away from those humans:rofl: That is a nice looking beach area. I could spend days lurking/searching there. You got some nice finds there. Keep digg'n....dig it:thumbup:

Thats some great stuff! i like that cross penny! Do I see a ring in that one photo? Boy, the water table there is way down huh? from looking at that cliff in the background anyway...dang, you are hunting in what was 30' of water?
Mud

Actually Mud, the lake is only 6 feet low. That's just bluffs that were above the river, leading into a valley. And yeah, I thought that was a ring too at first glance. But it turned out to be a watch case...plated. And yes John, I DO spend days out there looking around, lol. It's given up some pretty good stuff so far. Around that bluff is where I found the walking liberty. There's also a an airplane tail section in the water I found when the lake was lower. The lake was built in 1944 and people have been swamping this place every summer since. It's one of my favorite places hunt. I'm going to hit it pretty hard this winter, concentrating on where people parked and camped.

Why did you feel being away from the body of humanity from time to time, I like to go at night to the beach, for the same reason.
Beautiful pictures, nice place. Best: the shell of the turtle, is fantastic.
Good luck in the search, there's more

Great looking area and really nice pictures. Don't blame you for wanting to hang out there. Like the shell. HH jim tn

Possibly the turtle was young and not fully formed, losing The humidity was opened, it hurts, but stay beautiful painting.
I'm a little envious to him, one of my collections of skulls of animals is "found" dead, we each have our "quirks" ...
Greetings senda

Nice pics. Yup, sometimes it's nice to be alone or hunting a peaceful spot. There's a solipsistic aspect to detecting that helps to disconnect for the grind of daily BS.
