Last hunt - sometimes you just have to take what you get

Here's the result of a 9 hour, hot day hunt. Sometimes you just have to be happy that you are still young enough to get out and hunt!!! The Wheaties wouldn't be bad, except for the fact that this was the same colonial site that I got my GW button, and my 1800 "80 over 79" Draped Bust large cent at. I tried hard, the machine ran smooth, just not passing the coil over the targets that day. Went out Thursday and only found 2 flat buttons on a 12 hour hunt. One more of those days and it's officially a slump:cry: Doesn't discourage me one bit!!! HH everyone

i know whatcha mean, coinnut! it happens to everybody. i had a bad silver slump until a week and a half ago. the '64 quarter and '09 half really did a lot to revive me! but hey, you've got some nice finds there, even though it took a while to find them. hh,

you should feel great ,you were the only one to find two coins that day.
mine did clean up pretty well , Dan

It is truly amazing how detecting goes some times. I spent a week in north central Minnesota last week fishing and detecting. Nearby the resort I was at is a 115 year old (rural) fairgrounds that has yielded me IH, Barbers, Mercs. and 2 Walking Lady halves over the years. This year, 1 1942d Merc., 5 wheaties and a smattering of clad, ONLY. I went out early this morning to one of my favorite haunts that is trashy and has been pounded by me and many others. In three hours time I recovered 3 silvers, 2 64 Rosies and a 41d Merc., a ivory/bone inlayed jack knife, 4 wheat cents and a little clad. For sure, the "grass isn't always greener" a long way from ones home base. HH jim tn
