Last few hunts using 6" DD Excelerator coil

I got permission to hunt the church grounds where there had once been a missionary school years back. I was swinging my 6" DD Excelerator coil and it was definitely doing its job. 95% of the targets were down between 4" to 6" and a few were down about 8". And for the skeptics the deep targets were not read off the detectors depth display either. I normally just guess the depth of a dug target by using my coin popper which is 8" long with a 5" handle for reference, but since some skeptics have been questioning depths on some of the posts here recently I thought I would use a tape and measure the deeper targets just for the heck of it. It was funny that between my guess and the tapes measurement I was pretty close with my guess..I really don't think a person needs to defend his reported depths on this forum anyway. If someone says they dug a 14" target using a with such and such coil so be it. There are a lot of variables anyway in a coils ability to detect deep targets so its really no big deal. Well anyway back to my hunt, I found a lot of clad and the oldest coin recovered was a 1954 nickel. Well thanks for looking and listening. Happy Hunting. Dennis in Idaho

Great job with your Excelerator coil, add one to a MXT and you can get some depth! I agree with you on not having to defend ones claim to depth, its called being proud of what you and your detector can do. Again good job and nice stack of coins.

Nice hunt Steelhead! Not only the sports car but the ignition keys too!!

OH MY!!!! What a great haul there Dennis. I'm surprised with the depth of the coins and not a one silver. What a bummer. More power to you for digging all those targets. Maybe after you get the clad coins out, you'll be finding the old stuff. You'll be surprised how the clad will mask the good old coins. Thanks for sharing and keep us posted on the church yard. Nancy

Nice finds Dennis, keep up the good work. Rob
