I was able to get out a bit on Christmas eve and Christmas day before that dreaded 4 letter word came, SNOW. Now we're buried under several inches of the white stuff and it doesn't look like it's going to melt for awhile. Hope everyone had a great holiday. For those of you lucky enough to keep digging through the winter keep the pictures coming, it sure helps pass the time until we can dig again...

Sorry for the late post, got kind of busy with the holidays. I can't wait till next season, I have some real promising new sites to work.

Great finds Butch, don't let a little snow stop you. I go out in the woods know matter how deep it is. I've been in the woods where I had to where "spike-e's" to walk on the ice. LOL

Wow you're hard core. I'm more of a fair weather hunter. I don't mind a little cold, but when our ground freezes up it's almost impossible to dig a hole without a stick of dynamite. This is the time of year I will usually dust off my Seahunter Mark II and head to the coast in hopes of finding a beach with some sand stripped off. If you hit it right you can do pretty good with jewelry.

Great finds, Butch! I really like the good luck charm, and 14K is always a treat.

Congrats on the finds and, yes,I also am dealing with the four letter s-word here in the Albany, NY area. We've had 16 inches so far with about 8 inches left now. My last "real" day out swinging was Christmas day (letting wife and Mom-In-Law work their kitchen magic) and managed a 1962-D Rosie and the pictured sterling Judaic Mezuzuh.

I attempted to remove some of the s-stuff around an old cellar hole in the woods nearby yesterday but stopped after a bit; a little too laborous for now. I'll wait until more snow dissipates. Saw you are from NY. Are you near the Capital Region?

Target must be in be the ground...Coil must swing over target...User must dig.

Hey ajaj Yes I'm in the Albany area, I tried to pm you but it wouldn't go through. We'll have to get together for a hunt when we thaw out.
