Chris and I decided to check out a new spot this morning and as fate would have it, we both scored silver. He, a Mercury dime and I managed a 42 Washington quarter and a 28s Mercury along with 5 wheat cents. Aside from a little trash, there weren't a lot of targets. The spot isn't all that big, but enough left to merit at least another shot.

The first group shot, less some clad and 4 wheat cents, I dug on Sat. Got the 1 piece of silver, a 54 Rosie, a nice dropped mini. round ball that may have been fired and a chunk of camp lead. Also got a button that the front is toast, but the back lettering still has some gold gilt. R. W. Robinson and under that is the word Reb??. One of the things associated with R W Robinson is they made VMI buttons. The longer piece with the round top might be some type of candle holder. It has like screen mesh around the bottom of the round top part??? One curio, a thimble and a Made in Hong Kong Liberty charm rounds out the group. The 2nd group shot is todays digs, less some trash. Digging currently is like cutting butter. HH jim tn

Nice hunt Man! some of those pennys look like they were in the water..:clapping:
Mud

There is a narrow trench that runs across some of the property and some of the coins came from it. Water un-doubtly stands there after a good rain. HH jim tn

Good on the silvers.

Great job on the silvers! I wish the ground in my neck of the woods was like cutting butter. More like cutting concrete if you ask me... HH!
