Last Couple Of Hunts Netted Me A Fishing Magnet, A Rabies Tag And Some Loot....

The snow is still covering the ground. A couple of days ago I hunted near a small frozen river, and on the edge, where there was a fresh water spring exposing the dirt, I got a signal. After digging down in the cold muck, I pulled out a magnet at about 8" and a very powerful one at that. It had a warning not to get your fingers between the magnet and a metal surface. I figure, someone was magnet fishing the creek for fishing lures, and must of snagged it after tossing it to the other side of the creek. The rope broke, and he never bothered to get it. Tonite after work I hit a couple of snow hills and got a nice bunch of coins. It's great to get out! It was a couple of degrees above freezing. The high for this coming Friday is -19. :(

Well done! That search took some perseverance on your part and it paid off.

Couple of questions ...

Is that -19 temp at Centigrade/Celsius (brrr) or Fahrenheit (BRRRR)?

Also, are you using your AT 400 or Pro exclusively now? Do you ever go out with the GTI2500? Your ideas there would be good to hear.

Cheers,

Joe

That -19 is in Celsius, which works out to -2.2 F. The ACE detectors work great in the snow for coins, as I tend to dig it all just like water hunting. I haven't taken the GTI 2500 out for a spin for a long time. However, it sits in the bedroom staring at me every morning and night. I really should take it out for a spin. I have the older model, where a female voice tells you the probable target and depth.
