Last couple of hunts.:garrett:

Haven't been swinging quite as much do to weather, the Thanksgiving holiday and obligations, of late, but have gotten just enough finds to put together a post. With one of my hunting buddies, Chris, did get in a nice 5 + hour hunt earlier this week on a good old spot. As it turned out, it was his day. He nailed a sweet 1900 Barber dime, 1899 I H, an old ear ring, a couple of period bullets, a couple of wheats and a Buffalo nickel. My take for the outing was 4 wheats, a couple of pieces of period lead and clad.

Yesterday, I did manage a 54d Rosie and a couple of 40's wheat cents from an old park.

At 0600 dark with a light mist falling, I headed out this morning to the same old spot as yesterday. Just light enough to see decently when I started swinging along a road. After a couple of cents I snagged the 38 Washington quarter about two car lengths down the road. About a foot away from the quarter, I dug the 43s Mercury. Both of the silvers had some dark stains, but after checking the dates, gave them a good soda rub and they cleaned up nicely. About an hour or so into the rainy hunt, I began to realize that the A T Pro was a lot more water proof then was my old rain jacket and called it a wrap. I had recently bought a new rain jacket, but hadn't broken it in yet. Will, as I threw the other rag away when I got home. During the hunt, I wasn't taking the time to check the cents and when I did at home had a nice surprise with 1 of the cents being a 1895 I H and 3 wheat cents. The wheats were 40's and 50's. Also dig some curios and a couple of nice pieces of lead.

Kind of a bad forecast for us southern folks for tonight and tomorrow, then cold, so swinging just might be curtailed for a spell. For a lot of you up north, it appears your hunting season has ended. When I dig the next silver, I'll be thinking about you all. HH jim tn

Nice going - great finds that would have me beaming. The weather is really unsettled, rain & cold and the ATPro is my first choice for no worries in the slop. Just one less concern so I can concentrate on signals. Being able to rinse it off with a hose or in a shower is a great feature.

Although I have been able to slip in an hour or so the last couple of days, all swingers, I think, around here are pretty much hunkered down currently. So far right here we have dodged ice and snow, but with temps continuing to drop and still a light drizzle, we aren't quite out of the woods yet. Cold tomorrow, but rain supposed to be ceasing tonight. Tomorrow, in fact, might be our only hunting window for another couple of days. Our weather here sure beats what my Mn summer stomping grounds has. I hope they thaw out by the first of June. And, where some of you guys are, too. Thanks everyone. HH jim tn

Jim- Your slow days look a lot like my good days! Thanks for posting your treasures and hope the weather gets back to mild over there.

Nice finds. I love those mercury dimes & IH pennies. Any silver is good and the bullets were nice. It's supposed to rain tomorrow in south, Ga, but I will be at the ymca pool all day with our dive class. Two more nights next week and I will be through until I can do my certification dives. GL & HH everybody. I haven't been able to dirt fish for about 7 weeks for one reason or another, but next week should get me started again. Hope I remember what end of the coil to use?

Nice finds! Ground unfroze here for a couple of days, but it'll freeze back up next couple of days. Us Yankees may have the early U.S. history on our side, but the winters suck. Go out and find some more silver for us!

Wonderful digs. In the first pic, top round object. Is that an old house fuse ? I found one like it this year as a first for me, bigger than standard fuses, quite old.
