LAST Air test vid of the AT Pro

Ok, the last one! I wanted to maximize my distance results so I tried to standardize where the targets hit in the detection field. I also wanted to see if I could duplicate John's results with the Euro...didn't happen! NO more air tests.. I'm off to the great wide open tomorrow. Might even get wet..

Well that is better but that dang euro still kicked our USA butt............

he was in coin...but did not say if he was in pro or standard Pro mode is modulated so without headphones you cant hear the deepies..... If He was using the standard Garrett mode which is full audio to depth and I would bet you could see some better airtest depth...And he might of had headphones on to help his even more?

The camera sure cant pick up whisper hit's and you are close to 3 foot from the speaker yourself...I always see a depth gain in airtesting when using headphones!!

He also mentions something about the ground Balance? he was using preset how was your's I just ask because.......................... was it trying to track?

to fully evaluate the 2 everything would have to be set exact and be in exact same test room.....so I would bet they are pretty close.....

just my observation's

good video though!!

Well 13" on a nickle is pretty dang good in my book. My Infinium will only get one at 11.5" in the ground, cause air test stink with a PI. Looks good so far. Good video!

I did my test in the coin (preset ground balance) mode, whipped those coins & rings at a fast speed and measured the distance at the first repeatable distance.

The results on both the US version and the Euro version should be the same. I am sure Garrett would not make a more powerful version of a detector for another country only. That simply doesn't make any sense at all. :)

It's my understanding that the only difference in the US and Int. version is the ID system, It will show different tagets on the screen and more likely targets for the eurpoean market.

By the looks of it the AT Pro can hit bigger US coins at about 10 inches with normal sweep speed. There will never be a case where anyone would swing their detector as fast as people do on air testing. Your videos are pretty much right in there with the sweep speed your using. Seems like the AT has normal detecting depth compared to the f75's and T2's. Time in the field will give us more info. Keep it coming!

If you watch the Garrett Video...the part where the Engineer is talking about them he states that the International version was optimized for low conductive targets....ie: better for gold and ancient thin silver hammered coins. The thin silver hammered coins that they find over there sometimes read all the way down in the tinfoil area of a TID detector. So my guess is that may be the reason John's International model tested so much better on the low conductors than Pyldriver's USA Version. I think I want the International version as I am more interested in Low Conductive targets than high conductive targets. JMHO

Your right so i would think i would want the Euro model instead of the US model i sort of feal cheated ... I knew there was some reason John got the Euro instead of the US model ......... For him liveing so close to the US it got me thinking why a Euro model.........

John, you started some stuff now here...international vs US...oh boy here we go. Now all the haters will hate on the US version....geez.

Actually, I often whip my coil back and forth with my GTI 2500 very fast after I get a weak non repeating signal. It sends a stronger signal through the coil, enough to get a better id in motion discrimination mode. And there are times in the woods, where I swing the coil back and forth about 12 inches very fast in restricted space to get a little more depth for ammunition, It works quite well, but wears you out fast.

Oh well.......the finds in the field will soon start trickling in and the air tests will be history. Even in the field, two people may set up their machine differently to search for the same type of signals, with different results.

Well i am not a Garrett hater i have been useing Garrett detectors since about 1982.... Just that there is 2 different AT Pros and we got the low end one.............. Oh well mine should be here this week and then i will see for my self..........

It is starting to look like the only way to lay this to rest is do a side by side test under same conditions. I suspect there is little if any difference in performance.

I don't think Garrett made a more powerful machine for the International Market just a machined tuned differently for the International Model. They may also have made some last minute changes to the US model to make it more suitable for saltwater use as many people voiced their concerns that it might not be optimized for saltwater use. This may have contributed to the lower air test range on the US model. But at this point it's all speculation until someone can compare a US and International model head to head. JMHO

Well if the two models are the same in depth....maybe someone with the Euro model would trade you for your US model.
