Last 3 Hunts: 5 Silver, 3 Old Nickels, & A Big Chinese Copper

I was too busy to go out this past weekend, but I got in three nice short hunts since last Thursday. The first place I went has been detected a lot. I managed a Merc, Buffalo and a few Wheats. I went out again Tuesday after work to a new place I have been wanting to try for a while now. It took a nice long conversation about the hobby and other interest, before he was comfortable with me looking around. I didn't get much time after talking, but found some Wheats, Rosie, Buffalo, a neat little spoon ring and the Big Chinese 20 Cash Copper. I believe it was minted in 1903. I found one very similar last year. It is about the same size as a Large Cent. I went back to both places last night, spending about an hour & half between the two. The first place produced my 2nd Shield Nickel ever, it's an 1875 and I thought when It first came out of the ground it would clean up nice, but the soil really beats up the old nickels around here. You can barely read the date, but I'm happy with that. I went up the road and scored with a dateless SLQ and another 41 Merc, & some more wheats. I like these short evening hunts when they produce like this. HH David
