An S would definitely have been very nice!

Back in 1980 when I started detecting, the very first coin I ever found just happened to be a 1912-D V nickel in beautiful condition. I found it after crawling underneath the original 1800's barracks building of the 10th Cavalry troops (Buffalo soldiers) at Fort Huachuca, Arizona. Was using a BFO Mustang metal detector. I still have the coin and the detector.

Some nice finds. That token has some good age and you were almost to the barber and Indian era on the dime and penny.
Yes, that 1912 V has teased me a few times. Maybe the next one will be a S mint mark.

I'm still using my X.S. the etrac is still at Kellyco going on 9 weeks now.
This is a place I hunted last year and pulled a 1887 I.H. from and a lot of wheats from the teens.
The finds are at 8 to 9 inches and every signal was iffy.
