Laser Scout Settings

Can anyone help me with the best settings for my Scout? I've been setting the sensitivity at around 6.5 and the discrim just over Iron on mainly farmland and pasture but I keep digging up lots of iron. Only managed to get out a few times since starting this hobby but found my first coin (2p piece <img src="/metal/html/grin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":grin"> ) and a little Victorian silver brooch so the portents are good.

Mick,
Ive been using the scout for 1yr now. My advice is keep the sensitivity at max in the black switch area & keep your discrim the same as you have it now if using on farmland. You will find iron (everyone else dose but dont like to admit it). If you get an iffy signal dig down 2 inches and see if it is more clear. Iron generally gives 'bitty' signals were it has decayed and mineralised. On pasture go into the red area on your switch setting for both discrim & sensitivity (dont if it chatters though). Good luck. I have found many good finds with this detector.
