I think i am looking for the largest coil possible for my etrac for hunting rural farm fields and pastures. I have the stock coil and an sun ray 5'' for the trash and tight spots... what can i get for covering alot of ground... looking deep in areas with out much trash?

thanks in advance,
steve

The SEF 12x 15 coil is a great large coil. However, remember with a large coil you also get the added weight hanging out there on each swing of a large coil. Don't get me wrong, I do like mine, but only for shorter hunts. If weight isn't an issue, IMO, then this is the right choice to make! Happy hunting !

Not sure but 11 inch coil is pretty good and try open as all metal to find anything from very old nail up to silver coins!

It's been some years since I've used a large coil on dirt but while in Colchester, England their was three of us using Doc's 15" WOT coil on those huge fields and we all did well. I feel I got a tad more depth but the coverage is great. I use the WOT on my beaches all the time and its a killer coil. It's heavy (think about 2 pounds). I've had my WOT for years and its still going strong.

I really like the 13" ultimate, its got some great coverage and is very sensitive to small targets. I have found tiny copper washers as well as musket balls and silver dimes in a farm field/Rev. War battlefield with it. And its just a tad bit heavier than the stock coil so I can swing it all day!
